Conejos started off hot scoring three runs in the first three innings, but the resilient Hays (KS) Larks sparked by Rafael Valenzula’s RBI single in the third inning came back to score four in the inning to take the lead 3-4. The Oaks would not be held back. Arin Fowble hit a three run home run in the top of the sixth to give the Oaks a 6-4 lead, a lead they would not give up. The Oaks added two more insurance runs in the top of the ninth to go on to win by the score of 8-5. With the win the Conejos (CA) Oaks advance to the third round to play the winner of the Seattle- San Diego Stars game on August 9th. With the lose Hays moves on the play an elimination game against the San Diego Waves on August 8th.
