Fifth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Greeley Grays, 7-1

A four-run explosion in the fifth inning spurred the Greeley Grays (3-0) to a 7-1 win over the Haysville Heat at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Sunday.

Justin Byrd had a busy day at the plate, collecting three extra-base hits. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fifth, seventh, and ninth innings.

The Haysville Heat (2-1) had no answer for Alex Ellison, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Haysville Heat managed just three hits off of Ellison, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his six innings of work.

Matt Royal (1-1) took the loss for the Haysville Heat. He allowed seven runs in nine innings, walked four and struck out five.
