The Santa Barbara Foresters need extra frames to finish the Hutchinson Monarchs, win 5-4

The Santa Barbara Foresters (3-0) beat the Hutchinson Monarchs (2-1) 5-4 but needed 13 innings to do so on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in the semi-finals of the winner's bracket of the National Baseball Congress World Series.

With the score tied at four, Arby Fields came to the plate and singled, scoring Zach Fish.

Fields helped the Santa Barbara Foresters take the lead for good in the thirteenth inning.

Jason Hursh pitched lights out for the Santa Barbara Foresters. Hursh held the Hutchinson Monarchs hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Paul White ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the NBCWS. He pitched three innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed one run.
