The Kansas Cannons drop the Impact Sports 7-4 behind Johnston's early

Four first-inning runs helped the Kansas Cannons (3-1) to a 7-4 win over the Impact Sports (2-2) at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Sunday in the National Baseball Congress World Series..

Ty Kildow went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Kansas Cannons. He singled in the second and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Derek Martinez's six strikeouts were enough to push the Kansas Cannons past Impact Sports. Martinez allowed two earned runs on six hits and three walks over seven innings.

Alex Herz was charged with his first loss of the NBCWS. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, hit two batters, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

Impact Sports is eliminated from the NBCWS while the Cannons advance in the losers bracket.
